Interprets and enforces compliance with local, state and federal codes and ordinances. Obtains compliance with building and zoning codes. Works with various developments’ permitting processes. Is responsible for a broad range of technical highly complex inspections directly related to enforcement of protective codes, development regulations and/or contract requirements. Work assignments require a thorough knowledge of various building codes, including Uniform building, plumbing, mechanical, ventilation and indoor air quality codes and various city ordinances for plan review and inspection purposes.
Four years of increasingly responsible experience as a building inspector, preferably including lead or supervisory experience in one or more areas of building construction, inspection or related engineering experience involving application of building, plumbing and/or electrical codes required.
Certification requirements: Kentucky Certified Level III Inspector
Education requirements: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in building construction, construction technology or related field.

Pay: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hour shift
