AIA Kentucky, the Code Administrators Association of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction once again join forces to present our annual Summer Code Series for architects, code officials, related design professionals and others seeking understanding of the Kentucky Building Code. This year’s workshop will be delivered via webinar from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST on June 23 & June 24. Participants will earn a total of 6 AIA LU | HSW* for attending both sessions.
This seminar focuses on the minimum requirements for new or existing construction of accessible commercial facilities for compliance with the 2015 International Building Code (IBC) and ICC A117.1-2009 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. It addresses the design, plan review and inspection of commercial buildings to ensure that people with physical impairments, visual impairments and hearing impairments can use the facilities with a similar experience. Attendees will participate in activities that involve questions and answers, discussion and case study, performing parts individually and also in groups.
*AIA Kentucky will report these credits to AIA for all AIA members attending. We believe the program will also be eligible for six (6) PDUs in health, safety and welfare toward Kentucky state licensing requirements. Individuals are responsible for reporting credits to the Kentucky Board of Architects upon request. The series has been approved for 6 hours credit for Kentucky Building Inspectors Certification Program. AIA Kentucky will provide certificates at the conclusion of each session to verify attendance.
